One of my favorite pieces of all time, Hill Street (Day City) created in 1981, by Wayne Thiebaud is now part of a private collection. From a glance this piece looks like a realistic painting of a city landscape. At the second glance the surrealistic and odd adjustments to the city landscape can be found. The different shades of light blues and yellows give this painting a happy-go-lucky feel. The painting is made up of different features, but still gives off the big city feeling.
